Corona virus - business as usual

The annual Avon Vale fixture at Larkhill on Saturday March 28 remains on course, despite many sports halting or postponing over the past few days.

The race meeting is under the overall jurisdiction of the British Horseracing Authority, whose COVID-19 steering group met on Friday to issue the following statement, "British racing continues to be in close contact with the UK government and has been followinhg their advice to continue with business as usual, subject to public health guidance.

"We are aware of the decisions taken by a number of sports to suspend fixtures in advance of any government decision coming into effect.. Racing's leaders are monitoring the situation daily and are currently considering a range of options in this rapidly developing situation. Contingency plans are ready as required."
