Avon Vale Races welcomes Salisbury Chamber of Commerce

Point-to-Point fixtures are increasingly popular as events where businesses can promote themselves, and in an innovative move, Salisbury Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Avon Vale Races to bring some of its 300 members racing on April 28.

Salisbury Chamber has been representing the business interests of the town and its surrounds for over 100 years through many exciting and challenging years, not least the recent choppy waters brought about by the Skripal poisoning.

Members and guests will see first hand what makes up a Point-to-Point fixture. The Chamber has lent its name to a fence for the day, and will present a Best Turned Out Horse award to draw guests to the paddock.

Peter McNeile, for the Avon Vale fixture, remarked, "Point-to-Point racing appeals to a broad audience of land and home owners living in rural towns and villages. We already receive support from brands like Investec Wealth and Boden seeking to engage this audience. Hopefully the day will inform Salisbury Chamber members about a fantastic venue on their doorstep."

David Rhind-Tutt, President, added, "Few of our members know there is more than one racecourse in Wiltshire, and this partnership will bring top quality steeplechasing to the attention of lots of businesses in the city and surrounds, for whom the affluent rural demographic may be very appealing."
