Meet the team

No Point-to-Point horserace meeting could exist without a hard-working team of volunteers to make this event swing. Here are the people that make this wonderful day's racing happen.

Bob Fear, Chairman of the Point-to-Point Committee

Bob Fear

Bob is a lifelong follower of the sport, and can be found most weekends in the winter and spring at a Point-to-Point meeting in Wiltshire or the South West. He farms in Avon Vale country.

Peter McNeile, Point-to-Point racing consultant

Peter McNeile

Peter grew up in Avon Vale country and cut his teeth race-riding in the Avon Vale Hunt race when the event was staged in Mendip country. Since then, he's pursued a career as a professional racecourse promoter, formerly as one of the senior management team at Cheltenham racecourse, and latterly as a freelance. He works at grass roots level with a number of Point-to-Point meetings, and with the sport at large, creating sponsorships like the recent national campaigns for Subaru, Volvo, NFU Mutual and Skinner's Pet Foods. Peter lives in Gloucestershire, but is a regular in Wiltshire at the family home near Bromham.

Amanda Palmer

Amanda is our hard-working secretary, liaising with Larkhill and co-ordinating all the arrangements and volunteers that are needed to make the Avon Vale Races go with a swing. In her spare time(!), she's a grain trader in Devizes.

Jill Lindquist

Jill is our lifelong treasurer, and helps keep our lofty ambitions in check!
